Taylor Swift Performs ‘Everything Has Changed’ and ‘Thinking Out Loud’ With Ed Sheeran in London

Taylor Swift fans have been on high alert at Wembley Stadium as the musician begins the final set of shows on the European leg of the Eras tour. The audience faced increased security measures after a terror threat led to the cancellation of three shows in Vienna last week. In their state of vigilance, Swifties at the London stadium noticed Ed Sheeran among the guests in the audience. Swift selected their Red collaboration “Everything Has Changed” as the first surprise song of the night, and after delivering the first verse on her own, she welcomed the red-headed musician to the stage.

Sheeran appeared with a guitar in-hand to assist on the ballad, which they seamlessly blended together with their Reputation collaboration “End Game.” Rather than delivering a typical two-song mashup, Swift switched up the performance with a duet version of Sheeran’s hit single “Thinking Out Loud.” During the song, all of the wristbands provided for fans to wear during the show lit up in the bright green of his X (Multiply) album cover.

“This is one of my best friends in the world, to the point where I feel like he’s a second brother,” Swift told the audience about Sheeran. “We toured together on the Red tour. Every time I’m doing the Red part of the show, I think about the memories that we’ve made. And now he is someone who plays Wembley like every week. This is regular for him. He works so hard and he’s on tour right now, and he’s probably so tired, but he wanted to come and play for you and do this for all of us. Give it up for Ed Sheeran.”

Swift closed out the surprise song portion of the show playing a mashup of “The Alchemy” and “King of my Heart” on piano. Her next shows at the stadium are scheduled for Aug. 16, 17, 19, and 20. Following the European leg, the Eras tour will resume in North America in October.
