Zayn Malik and Taylor Swift have teamed up for the sultry Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack song, “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever.” Produced by fun.’s Jack Antonoff, the song, available on iTunes, was co-written by Antonoff, Swift and Sam Dew.
On the yearning track, the pair trade romantic overtures. “What is happening to me?/ I don’t wanna live forever/ ‘Cause I know I’ll be living in vain,” Zayn croons in a falsetto on the aching ballad. “I just want to keep calling your name, until you come back home.”
Swift, meanwhile, ponders what the relationship means. “Wonder if I dodged a bullet?/ or just lost the love of my life?,” she sings, before she hits a longing tone for, “Baby, baby, I feel crazy/ Up all night, all night and every day/ I give you something, but you gave me nothing/ What is happening to me?”
Swift shared a snippet of the song via her Instagram, which features scenes from the forthcoming flick.
“I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” will double as Zayn’s last song of 2016. The former One Direction singer’s next song will be the first single from his upcoming second album due out in 2017. Last month, Swift announced her own channel as part of a deal the 1989 singer struck with AT&T and DirecTV. “Taylor Swift Now” will feature music videos, concert performances, behind-the-scenes footage and more from the Swift archives.
The sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker (and its accompanying soundtrack) arrives on February 10th. The film’s recent trailer features Miguel’s cover of Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love.”
