TesseracT added to Backdoors 2018 Lineup
The UK prog metal band will return to India for the fourth time, representing the heavy end of things at The Humming Tree’s concert series in Mumbai and Bengaluru
British prog metallers TesseracT will make their way to India for the second edition of concert series Backdoors on February 14th in Mumbai and February 17th in Bengaluru. Also added is Bengaluru powerhouse singer-songwriter Mahesh Raghunandan, which completes the lineup for venue The Humming Tree’s annual concert series.
Although Backdoors will mark the fourth visit for TesseracT, their previous performance was called off due to incessant rains at the Bengaluru edition of Bacardi NH7 Weekender in November 2013. The prog frontrunners–who released their latest single “Smile” last year and their full-length Polaris in 2015–previously made their India debut at festival series The Great Indian Rock in 2010 and were called back to the country for IIT Kharagpur’s Spring Fest in 2011.
The major difference this time around for TesseracT is the return of vocalist Daniel Tompkins, who was previously part of Indian prog rock/metal band Skyharbor and left to reunite with TesseracT in 2014.
TesseracT and Raghunandan join the likes of American hip-hop artist Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals, London rock band Wolf Alice, lightspeed rapper Watsky, U.K. rock veteran Vangoffey aka Danny Goffey, Mumbai rapper DIVINE, acoustic/folk indie act When Chai Met Toast and New Delhi singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad.
