U.K. prog band TesseracT will keep their promise to fans in India and return to the country after five years, with three shows as part of their War of Being World Tour in April 2024. TesseracT – who will release their next album War Of Being via Kscope on September 15th – will perform on April 26th in New Delhi/Gurugram, on April 27th in Mumbai and on April 28th in Bengaluru. Tickets, ranging between ₹1,999 to ₹2,499 are on sale now.

Promoted via ticketing platform and entertainment company SkillBox in association with Cobra Agency and 5B Artists, TesseracT’s India shows will be their first since early 2019, when they performed in Mumbai and at Bengaluru’s college festival IISc Pravega. Part of their larger Asia shows in 2024, the band’s War Of Being Tour kicks off in October 2023 in the U.S., followed by Europe shows in early 2024.

For their part, TesseracT have been performing in India since 2010, when they supported Swedish metallers Meshuggah at festival series Great Indian Rock across three cities. They were back in January 2011 for college festival Springfest at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, followed by a performance at Bacardi NH7 Weekender in Bengaluru in 2013 (which was jinxed by unseasonal rain). It took a bit of a time – including pulling out of Bengaluru festival Backdoors in 2018 – before the band made their way to India again, finally performing in 2019.

We’re about nine months away from TesseracT’s India shows, but the intent to put out tickets well in advance perhaps signals a way to sell tickets before music festivals begin their campaigns in the coming months.

The announcement of the tour, their new album and the lead single all came in one go, with the epic CGI-heavy music video for “War Of Being” being released on July 12th. The 11-minute music video and song sees TesseracT go from strength to strength, digging further into a darker, heavier side and then juxtaposing it with lighter passages on their most ambitious work yet. Thematically, the song and the album will introduce what is referred to as the Strangeland story. A press release via Kscope states, “The Dream has crash landed and ‘ex and ‘el’ awaken to find themselves in ‘The Strangeland’, facing a foe known simply as ‘Fear’ the two are separated and so begins the journey of War Of Being…”

Vocalist Dan Tompkins said of the song in a statement, “’War Of Being’ is a fight for acceptance, a battle of existence and a resistance against ego. It’s a struggle for control as we cut through the white noise of reality. It’s the need to know and identify with oneself, to accept and understand what we stand for and who we are. There is an urgent need to ‘Tear the mask away’ and reveal your true self.”
