Thailand Is the Ultimate Keeper of Secrets in ‘The White Lotus’ Season Three Trailer

If the walls at the resort housing the morally-grey and naively-misguided stars of The White Lotus could talk, they’d have plenty of secrets to spill. In the trailer for Season Three, premiering Feb. 16 on HBO, a Thailand getaway reveals chaos and corruption for guests and employees, alike.

“Everyone comes to Thailand, they’re either hiding from someone or they’re looking for someone,” the resort health mentor Mook (played by Blackpink’s Lisa) says in the clip. But at the White Lotus, in particular, those worries should melt away. “Our hotel is the best in the world,” another crew member adds. “At the end of the week, you will be an entirely different person.”

It comes across as more of a threat than an ode to relaxation. For Timothy Ratliff (Jason Isaacs), who’s there on vacation with wife Victoria (Parker Posey) and three kids, the transformation comes early when he gets a call with some bad news. “What am I supposed to tell my family?” he asks. “We’re poor now and daddy’s going to prison.” Victoria might not say out loud that she’s in the marriage for the money, but when asked what she would think if they lost everything she deadpans: “Honestly, I don’t know if I’d want to live.” For some others on The White Lotus, living or dying might now be their own choice.

There are also murmurings about an increase in crime rates, as evidenced by masked gunmen battling with employees who vowed to protect the hotel. Spa manager Belinda Lindsey (Natasha Rothwell) is miles away from her usual resort in Maui, but she’s seen enough to know something here doesn’t feel right. A group of vacationing girlfriends deploy the saying “What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand” to justify their bad behavior, while a young woman hanging with an older man makes note of the anger rich men seem to carry with them. The sinister air of the location is unlikely to leave them all unscathed.

The White Lotus Season Three stars Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Isaacs, Lisa, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola, Lek Patravadi, Posey, Rothwell, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tayme Thapthimthong, and Aimee Lou Wood. It also features appearances from Nicholas Duvernay, Arnas Fedaravičius, Christian Friedel, Scott Glenn, Dom Hetrakul, Yuri Kolokolnikov, Julian Kostov, Charlotte Le Bon, Morgana O’Reilly, and Shalini Peiris.

The series has already been renewed for a fourth season.
