'Battleship,' 'The Watch,' 'Total Recall' and more get tossed in the Scum Bucket

Now that the summer blockbuster season is coming to a close, Peter Travers sits down to reflect on the worst films of the season. Fans were dismayed with The Watch, The Bourne Legacy, and Total Recall, with one person even saying the end credits of Snow White and The Huntsman were “more watchable” than the movie itself. But the most upset write-in might have been last summer’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon, which was so atrocious, it still left a mark this year.
Travers’ Worst Ten list also includes head-scratchers, clunkers, and clueless flicks like The Expendables 2, Sparkle, Battleship, and even Katy Perry: Part Of Me 3D. “That was, ‘Let’s make money, let’s just exploit my audience and see how much money I can suck from them with a sucky movie,'” says Travers on the pop star’s limp live concert film.
