The Aristocrats, Blackstratblues, Li-Sa-X and KOIAI, Bloodywood Announced for Three-City Oddball Festival 2023

The touring event will hit Mumbai, Bengaluru and New Delhi in February, featuring the return of the stalwart rock/fusion act featuring Guthrie Govan, Bryan Beller and Marco Minnemann

A new festival is bringing back versatile rock/fusion act The Aristocrats to India in February 2023 for three shows in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru. The Oddball Festival will feature the cheeky virtuosos on return to India, performing on February 17th in Mumbai, February 18th in Bengaluru and February 19th in New Delhi.

The festival – which is put together by event promoters and artist management company BlueTree along with promoter ODDC – is also bringing in Japanese rock act KOIAI, featuring guitarists Li-sa-X and Hazuki and vocalist Kotono.

Intended as a showcase of “the epic, eccentric and extraordinary,” Oddball festival also hosts the return of Mumbai/New Zealand stalwarts Blackstratblues, jazz-fusion act MaMoGi – comprising saxophonist Mark Hartsuch, bassist Mohini Dey and drummer Gino Banks – in a collaboration with pianist Lydian Nadhaswaram,folk-metallers Bloodywood, Bengaluru-based composer-guitarist Sanjeev T and his Carnatic-fusion ensemble and rock act Kraken in different cities.

The Aristocrats’ Guthrie Govan said in a statement about returning to India and how they would be “serving up a menu of musical mayhem which will feature not only some old favorites but also a few surprises” that haven’t yet appeared as recorded material. The guitarist adds, “We’ve always had a great time touring in India — there’s definitely something special about the vibe of the audiences, who always manage to bring a combination of vibrant rock ’n roll energy and deep musical appreciation — so we can’t wait to come back and we really look forward to seeing you at these forthcoming shows. It’s been too long!”

KOIAI added in their statement about their debut India shows at Oddball Festival, “We at KOIAI are delighted to be able to perform our memorable first live show in India. It will surely be an unforgettable show for you as well. Come and meet us!”
