The Busiest Man In Indian Indie, Sidd Coutto Talks JD Rock Awards
‘Pentagram are my favourite band, I love their music. I fell in love with them when I was 16, that’s, like, half my life. Long-time big fan.’
Sid Coutto, of Tough on Tobacco and Punk Ass Orifice (among many other bands), considers Pentagram his favorite band of the year. The band have seven nominations at this year’s JD Rock awards  including Best Band, Best Album (for Bloodywood), Best Song as well as individual nominations for every single band member.
“Pentagram are my favorite band, I love their music. I fell in love with them when I was 16, that’s, like, half my life. Long-time big fan,” says Coutto.
The multi-talented performer also spoke to ROLLING STONE Magazine about why the awards are good for alternative music, as well as its current state.
“The awards are a great place for people to find out what bands are doing well right now in the public eye, and who  the best  known acts are at the moment. In the last three years Indian rock music has got a lot of mainstream attention, more than before”¦ we now have more T.V time too. I think that’s good, its way better than it was before, and now the internet has created a level playing ground that’s made it easier for everyone. So as an art form its doing great, but as a business? HA HA HA HA,” Coutto asserts.
The musician is currently working with his new band called Punk Ass Orifus, and should have a new album out “between tomorrow and next month.”
