The Chemical Brothers

Further Astralwerks [Three stars]

Published by

The Chemical Brothers’ seventh disc is as relaxed as you can expect from two guys who still routinely blast arena-size electronica to throbbing masses. Further manages to be both pretty and hard-grooving: ”˜Snow’ sets sweetly melodic murmurs over gently billowing synths, and ”˜K+D+B is soft, repetitive synth rock that has no destination in mind. ”˜Dissolve’ rides a simple synth line toward groove nirvana, although its relative plainness means it doesn’t do much for you when your body is at rest.

Key Tracks: ”˜Swoon,’ ”˜Snow,’ ”˜K+D+B’
