The F16s, Maribou State, Ross From Friends and More to Play At Magnetic Fields Festival’s BUDX South Stage

Desert music festival Magnetic Fields will return for its seventh edition from December 13th-15th. Hosted at the Alsisar Mahal in north-west Rajasthan, the annual festival will feature electronic, folk and rock acts across a diverse array of both Indian and foreign artists. This year’s theme is ‘the law of the seven’ and the festival promises to create an experience built on what can be observed anywhere in the natural world.

Magnetic Fields will open with a live set by New Delhi-based electronic duo Okedo on the BUDx South Stage by Budweiser Experiences. The electronica project features composer Will Clark on synth and vocals and producer Ishaan Gandhi on drums and electronics. Okedo is known for their killer grooves and catchy melodies that could turn any ground into a dance floor. Returning to the festival after three years is Chennai alt rockers The F16s who recently released their third record WKND FRNDS. They will be hitting the BUDx South Stage to play at the festival for a second time.

Also on the bill are U.K. electronica duo Maribou State. Comprising DJs Chris Davids and Liam Ivory, the pair have garnered acclaim for their remixes of tracks by Fatboy Slim, Lana Del Ray and more as well as the lush instrumentals they employ in their mixes. British producer Felix Clary Weatherall aka Ross From Friends will also be showcasing a set at the BUDx South Stage. Ross’ sound is influenced by hip-hop, Hi-NRG, eurobeat and italo disco.

European alternative jazz outfit KLEIN too will play at the BUDx South Stage, presenting a sound that oscillates between electronica, pop and jazz. You could call Imphal band Lo! Peninsula genre agnostic as they skirt and traverse the shoegaze, dream pop and psych rock sound. They released their EP AKA Lo Peninsula last year and will be playing at the upcoming edition of the Magnetic Fields festival. 

Mumbai-based multi-instrumentalist Nush Lewis and ambient electronic musician Shadaab Kadri aka Riatsu will present ‘Asrar’ at the BUDx South Stage. Their set will explore silent thoughts and dreams, deriving from the sound of the harp and electronica. New Delhi solo electronica project Rijul Victor aka Corridors will be bringing his ambient, psychedelic, glitch and bassy sound to the festival. He is known for his immersive live sets.

Also on the bill for the BUDx South Stage are Fieldlines (a collaborative collective formed at the festival’s incubatory residence), Mumbai-based electronica and visual artist Tejas Nair aka Spryk, Zurich-based bassist and producer James Varghese, New Delhi disco/electronica DJ Anubhav Sharma aka D80 and Hyderabad producer, beatboxer and DJ Yung.Raj.
