Their favourite pastime might be indulging in homoerotic jokes and dank memes on the Internet, but when it comes to talking about (and of course, making) music, post-rock band Aswekeepsearching know how to make an instant emotional connect with their listeners.
Their poignant tunes come from two Ahmedabad-based guitarists and producers””Uddipan Sarmah and Shubham Gurung””Mumbai-based drummer Gautam Deb and his rhythmic mirror, Pune-based bassist Bob Alex (both gleaned from Pune experimental metallers Noiseware). Sarmah is the headstrong, enterprising guy who knows that adding wistful Hindi lyrics to post-rock makes for both marketing and creative genius.
Aswekeepsearching have nailed a sprawling sound that’s taken them around the country (and Russia) ever since the first 2Stroke Tour Sarmah put together in 2015. With a follow-up to debut full length Khwaab being readied for early 2017, there’s even bigger stages that Sarmah and co have set their eyes on, with a rumored Asia tour in the works.
