From fun tips, budget trips to to-do lists, she’s got us covered
In around three years, Mumbai blogger Scherezade Shroff has become the queen of fashion, beauty and travel videos on YouTube. Shroff made the switch from writing to video blogging just when the video platform was picking up a variety of viewers and the word viral was just beginning to become part of the Indian lexicon. She says with a laugh, “It was all started by accident. I’ve said this about 200 times, but I’m going to repeat it to you again.”
She went from working for a network channel to starting up her own and the output hasn’t flagged since then, happily lending a hand to women everywhere with whatever they need””makeup tutorials, fashion weeks sneak-peeks or quirky challenges (her last one involved eating a spoon of wasabi with her husband-to-be Vaibhav Talwar on their joint channel Coupling). She adds, “We did this fun thing at Changi airport [Singapore], where we went with two empty suitcases and we had to shop for a two-day trip at a mystery destination, which happened to be Hanoi.” Turns out, there’s not much room for days off in either of their lives, by their own volition. Shroff says, “We took a week off last week, because we couldn’t cope with both [wedding prep and video work]. But at the most, we’ll probably take a week off after the wedding. Between Vaibhav and me, we put out four videos a week. It’s pretty much constant.”
