New clip traces love from triumph to tragedy

Mixing live action and animation, the gorgeous new clip for the Killers’ “Miss Atomic Bomb” tells the decade-spanning love story between a stage starlet and aspiring rock & roll singer. What starts at triumph, as she dashes off the stage and into the singer’s arms, turns tragic when another man enters the picture. The video has that distinctive Killers touch, with plenty of flamboyant costumes and sets, not to mention some hammed up facial expressions; but if the classic “Mr. Brightside” clip ”“ to which this new video bears some resemblance ”“ proved anything, it’s that the Killers are masters of grandiosity.
