The Mud Rush hosts a seven-km obstacle race through muck, ice and slush

Since it debuted in 2012, The Mud Rush (TMR) has grown into a much-anticipated adventure music festival. Although the biggest draw of the event remains the thrilling seven-km obstacle run through slush, muck and ice, its music lineup which has now expanded to include multiple indie bands makes it a one-of-its-kind day-long event in the country.

The Mud Run is an all-terrain race with 21 obstacles

This year, TMR has scaled up to include two runs”“a competitive Pro Race for people who wish to race against time as well as the usual non-competitive Mud Run where finishing is as good as winning. While the previous editions were all held in the scenic outskirts of Mumbai ”“ Kolad (2012), Jadhavgarh Fort (2013) and Silvassa (2015)–the fourth leg of TMR will be held in the city at Film City, Goregaon on September 23rd.

Says Jay Goradia, Director, Marketing, TMR, “The Mud Rush is a labor of love, commitment and offering unique experiences. This is the fourth edition and we already have plans for the fifth and fiftieth! Adventure, travel, food and music–some of our favorite things together. The response has only been encouraging, growing and we do want to make this an international touristy calendar festival in times to come.”

The music performances will be held at the special TMR Nation arena and feature acts like the Mumbai alt pop act The Colour Compound, jam band The Sidd Coutto Experience, regaae/hip-hop band Bombay Bassment and funk/glitch/DnB act Funk Assasin. There’s also a pop-up bazaar at the festival featuring curated food outlets and flea market. Runners will be able to choose from a variety of organic and healthy food stations, live food trucks, mocktail bars and more.

The Mud Run itself will be an all-terrain, marathon-style run with 21 obstacles including slush trenches, barrier walls, ice pits, uphill and downhill climbs etc. The Pro Race will be held on a longer circuit and pose a more formidable challenge.

The Mud Rush will host a two runs–a competitive Pro Race and the usual non-competitive Mud Run where finishing is as good as winning
