The eight-episode Batman Saga series will premiere on MAX in September
No one living in Gotham City has ever known peace. In the latest teaser trailer for The Penguin, the eight-episode series premiering on MAX in September, Colin Farrell‘s Oswald “Oz” Cobb is hellbent on making sure they never will.
“I’m gonna tear down the empire from the inside out,” Oz promises in the clip, which picks up where 2022’s The Batman left off with the assassination of Carmine Falcone. The second teaser for the series also introduces Cristin Milioti’s Sofia Falcone, the crime boss’ daughter who inherited his penchant for revenge.
“The family thinks I’m broken. I’m not broken,” Sofia declares. “I refuse to let these old men push me aside again. So I’m gonna take from them now. And I’m gonna force them to their knees.” In another scene, she tells Oz: “You know, Oz, people underestimate you, but not me. I’ve always known you were capable of more.”
The Penguin also stars Rhenzy Feliz as Victor Aguilar, Michael Kelly as Johnny Viti, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Nadia Maroni, Deirdre O’Connell as Francis Cobb, Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, James Madio as Milos Grapa, Scott Cohen as Luca Falcone, Michael Zegen as Alberto Falcone, Carmen Ejogo as Eve Karlo, and Theo Rossi as Dr. Julian Rush.
The show, created by Lauren LeFranc, is an extensive of the new “Batman Saga,” which began with Matt Reeves’ The Batman, which starred Robert Pattinson. The series picks up one week after the events of The Batman and follows Cobblepot as he claims his power as the Penguin in Gotham’s underworld by any means necessary.
