Ska Vengers is a New Delhi based band that combines ska with punk, rap, dub and jazz. This eight-piece line up comprises Miss Samara C. (vocals), Delhi Sultanate (vocals) [Also a part of BASSFoundation], Stefan ‘Flexi’ Kaye (organ/percussion), Raghav ‘Diggy’ Dang (guitar), Tony ‘Bass’ Guinard (bass), Nikhil Vasudevan (drums), Rie Ona (alto saxophone) and Shirish Malhotra (tenor saxophone). Their music delivers fluid lyrics; often fast paced, an upbeat tempo cleverly fused with Jamaican style vocals and a touch of Latin music to it. They performed on the first touring cabaret show The Stiff Kittens’ Medicine Show in 2009 and 2010. Kaye bagged an award for Best Indian keyboard player for three consecutive years at the Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards. Guinard won best bassist of the year in 2013, where The Ska Vengers were also nominated in best band and best album category. In 2012, the band launched their self-titled debut album, mixed by Brit Indian producer Miti Adhikari, who also worked with Radiohead, Foo Fighters and James Blake, among others. Â
