Them Clones

The name Them Clones brings to my mind two things :

1. Boys from Delhi who play grunge, have a guitar player named Gucci Singh and a one-of-a-kind bass player.

2. Boys I bump into, strangely enough, only when either of us are completely tanked. Good times.

If memory serves me right, Them Clones have been around since the year 2000. And along the way I have watched them grow from a small band in Delhi to a big ass rock act with a very strong fanbase. I’ve had the pleasure of sharing the stage with them twice, both of which have been mad gigs – my favourite being an acoustic show we did together in Delhi. I saw then that this band could strip its songs down to an acoustic set, most often where a band’s biggest flaws are revealed and amplified, and they did very well! They have always had great energy, although I missed a lot of that on their album. They definitely are a bunch of good musicians, each a strong person and performer in his own way, and most importantly, they come together well to form a good band. I expect great things to come from them in the future and hope to hear more of their honest rock & roll that, one day, might influence bands that go looking for that rebellious sound.
