Next month, Rolling Stone Metal Awards goes to Bengaluru and Delhi in the run-up to the Mumbai awards show, which is part of the fourth edition of metal gig series Insurrection.
Bengaluru bands such as thrash metallers Threinody, folk metal band The Down Troddence, who were big winners at RSMA 2014, will share the stage with thrash metallers Sceptre [Mumbai] and Trivandrum thrash metal band Chaos as part of metal gig series Insurrection, organized by Bengaluru firm Sound Awake. Local bands added to the lineup include melodic death/thrash metal band Neolithic Silence, heavy metallers Abaddon and thrash metal band Amorphia, also from Kerala’s Alappuzha district.
With a focus on thrash metal in and around South India, the pre-gig includes performances by bands working on new releases and upcoming material, whether it’s Threinody’s long-awaited full-length album or new material by Chaos and The Down Troddence. Sound Awake’s events has previously lined up bands ranging from rockers Parvaaz to Russian post-rock/electronica band I Am Waiting For You Last Summer, Kathmandu metal band Underside and pop rock singer Suraj Mani, among others.
With entries for RSMA 2015 closing tomorrow, stay tuned for more updates, along with the lineup for the Delhi pre-gig.
