Winona Ryder stars as a mannequin
Fresh on the heels of “Miss Atomic Bomb,” the Killers released their second Battle Born clip of the week on Friday, this time for the ballad “Here With Me.” Tim Burton directed the video, which was filmed in the spooky seaside resort of Blackpool in Northwest England, and stars Winona Ryder as a mannequin.
In a note on the band’s website, Burton explained the inspiration behind the clip: “The first time I saw The Killers perform live was in Blackpool, UK shortly after completing work on our first collaboration, the music video for Bones,” the director wrote. “When I heard the song Here With Me I remembered seeing a wax figure of Winona in Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks in Blackpool. The concept of the video is inspired by the 1935 film Mad Love, starring Peter Lorre, as well as the works of Mario Bava.”
