Acclaimed Tuareg band Tinariwen will perform across three cities as part of the new event series India Jazz Project, their return to the country featuring shows in Delhi NCR on Feb. 6, Mumbai on Feb. 7 and in Bengaluru on Feb. 8, 2026.

The band–known for their country, blues and rock-meets-Saharan music–last performed in India in December 2023, which included a set at Echoes of Earth festival in Bengaluru on the back of releasing their ninth album Amatssou. The band told Rolling Stone India in a collective interview ahead of those shows, “We were thrilled by the Indian audience and how they react/dance to our music. We feel a strong connection with [the] Indian audience, we feel they understand our grooves naturally.”

Tinariwen’s return comes courtesy of India Jazz Project, described as a “new luxury-forward music and culture movement” and each concert promises the Tuareg band performing alongside India’s most accomplished jazz and blues musicians, which are yet to be announced. India Jazz Project is created by Foreword, a cultural IP collaboration between live music company Overture and food and beverage curators The Soul Company.

Foreword co-founder Arpan Peter says, “India has a rich and often overlooked history in jazz and blues, and the India Jazz Project is our effort to bring that legacy into a global conversation. With IJP, we want to create a platform where world-class artists find a home in India, and where Indian audiences gain access to the finest international talent alongside our own exceptional jazz and blues musicians. Our aim is to build a long-term cultural movement that places India firmly on the global map for genre-defining experiences.”

Co-founder Somanna PM adds that India Jazz Project gives them the chance to build “a movement where the country’s culinary and hospitality prowess stands shoulder to shoulder with the sophistication of jazz and blues. This is an opportunity to showcase the best of India, on stage, at the bar, and in the way we collectively experience culture.”

While venue details are yet to be announced, tickets are now live on District across three cities.
