For those of you not familiar with Lana Del Rey and the impact she’s had spanning more than a decade now, “A&W” may be the definitive single of her entire discography. The seven minute plus track is as far removed from Top 40 sensibility, format and length as possible. But that doesn’t matter here as we hear different eras of Del Rey seemingly come together – creating a musical masterpiece that is provocative and perceptive. It’s the kind of song only she can release and we will lap up. Now that’s the sign of a brilliant artist.
