Trisha Hypes Herself As The ‘MVP’ in Empowering New Song
The 16-year-old singer-songwriter based between India, Dubai and the U.S. turns to trap for her latest release

Teenaged singer-songwriter Trisha navigates fairweather friends and emerges stronger on her new song and music video “MVP.” As the hook goes, the 16-year-old Indian artist says it’s now “out of sight, out of mind” for her when it comes to obsessing over what anyone else is doing.
Co-written with Michelle Blanchard and produced by Luke Matthew, a marked early Billie Eilish kind of trap and electronic influence energizes the hook on “MVP.” Trisha, an Indian citizen and current resident, was born in Dubai, and previously raised in the Republic of Congo and the United States, says she’s inspired by the likes of pop stars Ariana Grande, Tate McRae and Melanie Martinez.
Trisha says in a statement, “I wrote ‘MVP’ about trying to regain my own self-esteem when I found myself frequently ignored by my closest friend. Our relationship had deteriorated into one of apathy and I found myself constantly making excuses for her.” The artist regains a lot of things in the process of creating an empowering track like “MVP.” She adds, “Writing this song really helped me reinstate my sense of self-worth, establishing that I am the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in this equation. I will promote this song by sharing content that reiterates the importance of self-preservation in such situations.”
In the span of four years – Trisha began making her own songs at the age of 12, building upon singing ever since she was 5 years old – the artist has released a slew of songs and also gone on to be a finalist on music platform Nexa Music Season 2 in 2023, releasing the song “You’re The Problem.” Earlier in 2024, Trisha put out “Unfinished,” which has become her most streamed song on Spotify so far. Up next, the artist is plotting the release of a plaintive industrial-like pop song called “Plaster.”
In addition to releases, she’s already gotten on to big stages in three different countries. Notable gigs – interschool fests as well as standalone concerts – for Trisha have taken place in Chennai, Gurugram, Congo Republic and in Houston, Texas.
