Broadcast live, the show will feature performances by some of India’s most talented queer artists
As part of our celebrations for #PrideMonth this year, Rolling Stone India is proud to present a special #PrideGig this weekend, featuring music and spoken word performances by some of India’s most talented queer artists. The show is one of the many events of our editorial campaign titled #ThisCoverStoryIsAConversation for our #PrideIssue 2020 and will take place this Sunday, June 21st, 2020.
This year, we want to initiate a range of conversations and dialogues that are crucial to the LGBTQ+ cause, with conversations and art showcases, interviews by shining the spotlight on music and popular culture figures in the country who have been pillars of the community.
The artists on the lineup include poet Swastika Jajoo who is currently a government scholar studying Linguistics at Tohoku University in Japan, Mumbai singer-songwriter Alisha Pais will bring her rich powerful husky vocals to the show and spoken word artist Somesh Thapliyal will showcase his vulnerability and courage through his words.
Tune in to the show for free by registering on Insider.in. You can also place donations, proceeds of which will go to the Humsafar Trust’s COVID Relief Fund.
