Duo share first single "Overcompensate" from upcoming LP, the "final chapter" in an arc that began with 2015's Blurryface
Twenty One Pilots will wrap up a nearly decade-long narrative with their upcoming LP Clancy, which concludes the duo’s multi-album arc that started with 2015’s Blurryface.
Ahead of Clancy’s May 17 release, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun have shared the video for the album’s first single and opening salvo, “Overcompensate.”
Clancy is heralded as the “final chapter” in a story that began with Blurryface — Clancy arrives on the 9th anniversary of that album’s May 17, 2015 release — and continued on through the 2018 concept album Trench (where Clancy was the main protagonist) as well as Twenty One Pilots’ most recent LP, 2021’s Scaled and Icy; that album’s title was an anagram for “Clancy Is Dead.”
Clancy — co-produced by Joseph and Trench producer Paul Meany — is available to preorder now in a variety of formats, including two limited-edition deluxe box sets, four additional retailer-exclusive vinyl variants, a package containing a CD, journal book and cassette, and more.
