Ebow Graham aka Metropolis, vocalist and unsparing MC at U.K.’s seasoned hip-hop and dubstep group Foreign Beggars, died on April 18th following an “accident at home,” according to the erstwhile group’s update posted yesterday on social media.

A statement posted on the group’s Facebook page read, “Dear friends, it is with the heaviest heart we inform you that our brother Ebow Enyan Graham suffered from an accident at home, and passed away in the early hours yesterday morning. Ebow was a deep and peaceful soul, a dedicated and loving father to beautiful 10-year-old Cassius, and who touched people with his warmth, insight, talent and generosity everywhere he went.”

The MC was one of the founding members of Foreign Beggars, who ran riot in Britain’s grime, dubstep and hip-hop scene at the start of the millennium. Since 2002 right until they disbanded in 2019, Orifice Vulgatron aka Pavan Mukhi, Metropolis and DJ Nonames aka James Miller churned out 11 records and even stopped by India several times. Metropolis and Foreign Beggars performed at Bacardi NH7 Weekender in 2012, 2014 and most recently toured India in March 2019 to promote their final album Matriarchy.

The statement by the band also added that Metropolis had “been on a spiritual journey and exploring his relationship with existence and the universe” in recent times. “Ebow meant so much to so many people, a true poet and MC, an incredible father, gifted, humble, yet stylish to a T… His legacy lives on through his energy, love and passion, and through his son Cassius,” the band said.

PAV4N aka Pavan Mukhi, his bandmate also spoke about how he lost a “brother” today. “We traveled the world together and done things people can only dream of. Your legacy will live on and your impact on our realm has changed many lives for the better.. so much more I want to say but I shall be sharing many stories for years to come,” he says.

The band also posted about a Just Giving account to support Metropolis’ family, aiming to raise 50,000 pounds.
