Major Lazer Soundsystem, KING, Adam Beyer, The Midnight and more are part of the first phase of artist announcements for the three-day festival taking place from February 16th to 18th in Pune
With just under a month left, Vh1 Supersonic announced its first set of artists for their ninth edition taking place between February 16th and February 18th at Mahalakshmi Laws in Pune.
Among the headliners is Major Lazer Soundsystem making a return to the country, along with Swedish techno DJ-producer Adam Beyer (who first performed at Vh1 Supersonic, Goa in 2015), Indian hip-hop/pop star KING, American synthwave act The Midnight (stopping by as part of an India tour), plus Finnish deep house/techno artist Yotto.
In addition to DJ-producers like Hamdi, Denis Horvat and Patrice Baumel on the festival lineup, Indian artists include singer-songwriter Taba Chake, pop-rock band The Yellow Diary and DJ-producers like Arjun Vagale, Kohra, Browncoat and more. A special reggae corner at the festival includes a host of selectors such as 10,000 Lions, Ital Soup, Major C, Earl Gateshead and more. A second phase of artists are expected to be announced, taking over five stages across three days.
Major Lazer Soundsystem said in a statement, “India is a special place to us, so we are thrilled to be back at Vh1 Supersonic this year with some amazing sets planned. With each tour that we do in India, it’s always exciting to connect with more and more people and watch our fan base grow.”
KING added, “Performing at Vh1 Supersonic for the first time is a milestone moment for me, and I’m thrilled to bring my energy and music to such an iconic stage. The festival has been an iconic one in the Indian music festival circuit, and I can’t wait to finally be a part of it and share this unforgettable moment with my fans. I can’t wait to create some special memories with everyone out there. See you soon! It’s going to be a whole lot of fun.”
Festival curator Nikhil Chinapa added in his statement, “We’re back, as promised and this time we’re bringing Major Lazer, Adam Beyer, King, Yotto and a massive array of festival favorite artists from across the world. We’re opening our gates on the 16th of Feb to welcome back friends and fans for our 9th edition in 2024…and it’s going to be a massively memorable weekend. See you on the dance floor!”
