Watch: Arcade Fire Cover ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ Theme

Band frontman Win Butler took a shot at Axl Rose as he wrapped up Arcade Fire’s two-night set of shows at Forum in Los Angeles

Aug 04, 2014

Trust Arcade Fire to turn up the heat even if they’re doing covers. The band had kicked off their two-night back to back shows at Forum in Los Angeles, with an explosive set that included covers by LA bands Guns N’ Roses and Jane’s Addiction. For their last show on Saturday, nobody expected the band to cover “Axel F,” the Beverly Hills Cop theme, of all tracks. Band frontman Win Butler introduced the track with a joke aimed at Guns N’ Roses’ vocalist, “It was actually written about Axl Rose, people don’t often realize that.” The instrumental theme song was part of Arcade Fire’s encore.
