Watch: Ganesh Talkies – “Dancing! Dancing!”

Kolkata pop rock band Ganesh Talkies relive disco in the video for a song off their upcoming album

Published by

The Kolkata-based band Ganesh Talkies have premiered a video for their single “Dancing! Dancing!” which is the first track off their debut full-length album. The catchy track is a blend of Seventies disco, Nineties pop and modern rock and was produced by Miti and Neel Adhikari.

Directed by Kolkata artist Ayushman Mitra, who also directed the band’s video for the track “Item Song,” “Dancing Dancing!” follows a housewife’s chain of thought that displaces her from her daily routine at home to a debauched dance party. Vocalist Suyasha Sengupta sings against a trippy, psychedelic backdrop, which perfectly compliments the band’s affinity for retro. What really ties the concept together is the kinetic energy of the music matched with slick editing.

The band ”“ comprising vocalist Suyasha Sengupta, bassist Roheet Mukherjee, guitarist Ronodeep Bose, drummer Sambit Chatterjee and keyboardist Nabarun Bose ”“ who had originally planned an EP release, will instead spend some more time in the studio and release a full-length album later this year. Until then, bust a move in your office chairs to this disco-fueled track.
