Video: Nine Inch Nails Share Entire ‘Self Destruct’ Tour Documentary Online

Nine Inch Nails have posted a rare 75-minute documentary covering their 1994-1996 “Self Destruct” tour that’s packed with concert and behind-the-scenes footage. Available on the industrial rock group’s Tumblr, the doc was initially only available on the 1997 Closure VHS. As Reznor notes, the film contains some NSFW content, and also features appearances from David Bowie and Marilyn Manson. 

Along with the “Self Destruct” tour film, Reznor also posted another NIN rarity: an acoustic performance of “The Becoming” (from 1994’s The Downward Spiral) recorded in 2002 at Nothing Studios in New Orleans and featuring Reznor, Danny Lohner and Jerome Dillon. This version appeared on the deconstructed Still disc of the out-of-print companion compilation And All That Could Have Been, and Reznor also posted two more videos from the Still series, “Something I Can Never Have” and “Gone, Still.”

The nuggets come as Reznor prepares to revive Nine Inch Nails with an almost entirely new lineup that includes former Jane’s Addiction bassist Eric Avery, King Crimson guitarist Adrian Belew, keyboardists Alessandro Cortini and Josh Eustis and drummer Ilan Rubin. The band is set to hit the road this summer, with a U.S. arena tour to follow in the fall and then worldwide dates through 2014.
