The Welsh reggae metal band talks about their scariest songs, pre-show rituals and playing in India
Skindred vocalist Benji Webbe seems like he’s just woken up from a terrible night out drinking. When we first meet him at a hotel lobby in Mumbai, he’s chatting to bassist Daniel Pugsley and crew, “I don’t remember any of last night. It was like going out at night, and then waking up today morning. Can’t remember anything inbetween.” Guitarist Mikey Demus and drummer Arya Goggin join in soon and help Webbe piece together last night’s happenings.
The Welsh reggae metal band debuts in India at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender on Saturday, October 19th at the Bacardi Arena, but until then, they’ll be about town in Mumbai, being tourists. Goggin particularly mentions getting a suit made for himself, although we know Webbe will suit up when the band takes to stage on Saturday. Says Webbe, “I like dressing up. I think Liberace was amazing. If I could do the whole thing, I would.” Skindred announced today that they plan to shoot a music video for the title track off their upcoming 2014 album, Kill The Power while in Mumbai, and are on the lookout for people to feature in their video. More details on that here.
