The Mumbai-band rendered a savage set to close the night
If you didn’t make it to the Rolling Stone Metal Awards 2012, you missed some stellar performances. Mumbai band Pangea made an impressive debut  with drummer Jai Row Kavi finding himself at home as he employed more force at his kit than he has in the recent past. Providence, another Mumbai band and a clear crowd favorite, left the packed venue wanting more. Vocalist Karan Pote popped not one but both lungs fronting both Providence and Abraxas from Pune. While the crowd took a while to warm up to Eccentric Pendulum, by the time the Bangalore band launched into “Mathematicians of Ambient Waters,” they had the crowd growling for more. But one of the highlights of the evening was Zygnema’s finishing blow. The Mumbai band, which won Best Band in the Popular Choice category at the 2011 Rolling Stone Metal Awards, rendered a savage set from start to finish.Â
