The frontman of instrumental rock act Blackstratblues wants his longtime friend Sidd Coutto's band to make the most of their six nominations
Guitarist Warren Mendonsa and fellow musician (we say musician only because we are sure that there isn’t an instrument that this guy can’t play) Sidd Coutto go back almost two decades with their alt rock band Zero. So it was no surprise when Mendonsa picked Tough On Tobacco as his Band Of The Year at this year’s Jack Daniels Annual Rock Awards.  The Mumbai alt rock band, comprising Sidd Coutto, drummer Jai Row Kavi, bassist Johan Pais and guitarists Pozy Dhar and Gaurav Gupta, are nominated in six categories this year, including Best Band, Best Drummer and Best Album for their album Big Big Joke.
Says the Blackstratblues guitarist, “The best band for me is Tough On Tobacco because they finally got off their asses and made a great album. And the cover [art] is awesome too.”
The Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards takes place on February 21st at Mehboob Studios, Mumbai.
