The South Korean boy band up the sophistication on the groovy lead single from their first LP '6IXENSE'
South Korean boy band AB6IX made comeback today with the single “Blind For Your Love” from their first full length studio album 6IXENSE. The LP is a follow-up to their debut EP B:Complete which dropped earlier this year in May and the first release since their surprise collaboration with American singer-songwriter Lizzo.
The group show off a darker, more sophisticated vibe with the concept for “Blind For Your Love”; draped in elegant shirts and sleek, slim-cut suits, the five-member group keep confident gazes at the camera as they perform the detailed choreography. The sets are simple but beautiful, using colorful blends of light projection, draped silk, water stages and CGI to build an interplanetary feel. The video is also intercut with breathtaking close-up shots of each member’s face along with symbolism for various natural elements like water, earth, fire, air and space to complete the otherworldly effect.
Delicious warped bass builds the core of this deep house track produced by AB6IX’s lead vocalist Daehwi who also participated in writing the song with rappers Youngmin and Woojin. The chorus of ‘blind for your love’ is infectious and highly danceable, fitting perfectly into AB6IX’s knack of crafting the ideal beat drop. The entire group have been heavily involved in the making of 6IXENSE, with Daehwi taking the lead on production and arrangement on the majority of the tracks.
