Heavy metal musicians give 'The Wall' classic a softer spin for Opie Radio
Anthrax had a rare acoustic session for SiriusXM’s Opie Radio. Armed with four acoustic guitars and singer Joey Belladonna’s scraping vocals, the heavy metal musicians attempted something they had never performed before: Pink Floyd’s epic “Comfortably Numb.”
After debuting their take on “Comfortably Numb” at the SiriusXM studios, Anthrax performed the Pink Floyd song live during an intimate Friday night concert at Brooklyn venue Saint Vitus. The show also featured Anthrax’s first live performance of “Aftershock” in over a decade. The Saint Vitus concert served a benefit for the cancer support group Gilda’s Club, Brooklyn Vegan reports.
Anthrax is currently on the road alongside Slayer and Death Angel for a fall tour that runs through October 27th.
