Mumbai-based producer-DJ duo Bajje Squad – comprising Mark Fulgado and Pratik Dhongdi – are keeping form after their comeback in 2020. Their latest single “High On Feel” calls on singer Thomson Andrews for a moody synth-pop offering, backed by a visual that unfolds a tale of romance and intrigue.
Dhongdi says in a statement about the song, “[It’s] dance music, it’s pop, it’s a romantic ballad, it’s a banger. The song encapsulates the power of meeting your soulmate.” Stylistically, the song brings in airy synth and electronic production that Bajje Squad are no strangers to, adding Andrews into the mix with his mystique-driven delivery of lyrics by Divyesh Mungra.
“High On Feel” follows Bajje Squad’s bangers such as “Fear Love Hate” and “The Feeling” (we sense a thematic pattern here) from 2020, plus their 2021 single “As The Rush Comes.” Previously, Bajje Squad earned a rep for deep bass and techno tunes for dancefloors and festivals around India. While Dhongdi is currently working at a short video platform, Fulgado has built his repertoire as a composer and producer, helming the score for the Hindi version of action/thriller series 24 season one in 2013.
