The pretty video for “Marry Me” may or may not result in a frenzy of proposals for Begum [although members of the Assam punk band Digital Suicide have already proposed on YouTube], but the lo-fi psychedelic band from New Delhi has definitely received a lot of praise for it. Set at the Pushkar Mela in Rajasthan, the video, which is entirely in slow-mo captures the riot of colors at the fair, its languid pace matching the vibe of the track. Of course, the video also looks like Delhi gypsy rock band Peter Cat Recording Co have take the term “carnival sounds” literally, considering Begum is one half of PCRC including its members Karan Singh on drums and guitarist/keyboardist Kartik S Pillai on vocals. The video for “Marry Me” from Begum’s debut EP Bagh, which was released in 2014, has been filmed by Singh and PCRC’s vocalist Suryakant Sawhney.
