Watch BIBI’s Harrowing Video for ‘Life Is A Bi…’

The music video comes just days after the South Korean soloist’s latest releases, “Bad Sad and Mad” and “Birthday Cake”

May 06, 2021

Taken off her latest EP of the same name, “Life Is A Bi… is South Korean R&B artist BIBI’s honest portrayal of aching emotions and inner conflict.

Written and composed by BIBI alongside South Korean producer Stevenc4stle, the track explores the real struggles of life with addiction and bad habits as its focal point. The soloist keeps it real by explaining one’s inner battles when they ‘relapse’ into the trap of a toxic relationship.

The music video opens with BIBI casually walking across a field. Soon chaos erupts, as she notices a large group of kids sprinting past her. Naturally, her flight or fight kicks in, pushing her to follow the crowd. Throughout the video, BIBI plays the roles of a high school girl, a delivery woman on a bike, an office worker in a suit, a prisoner, a bride-to-be, a goddess of corruption and a homeless woman (a visual also featured in her music video for “Birthday Cake.”) All characters seem to be either running away or towards something.

The lo-fi/R&B trap sound brings out BIBI’s confident vocals and rap as she declares, “I almost fell for it again/ I almost believed you/ If it’s someone like you, I can risk my life/ I said, as I almost went to you.” As the track proceeds, BIBI finds herself fighting off the temptations– “Hey! Life tries to surprise me/ Sex, money, murder tries to addict me/ Hey, hey, life tries to swing at me but/ Jump scare, jump scare, I won’t fall for it.”

BIBI has actively participated in the concept planning, styling, lyrical writing, and composition for her five-track-long EP Life Is A Bi… which comprises “Umm… Life,” “Bad Sad and Mad”, “Piri the Dog,” “Birthday Cake” and the title track.
