Watch Blackpink’s Virtual Avatars Traverse Through Futuristic Routes in ‘Ready For Love’

Blackpink is back with new music. Following their first full-length album in 2020 and a string of solo music release courtesy of Lisa and Rosé, the K-pop act has released their first group musical project after nearly two years. Titled “Ready For Love,” the collaborative track between Blackpink and PUBG is a ‘special track’ that was first played during the in-game concert ‘The Virtual.’ A snippet of the song was played in the group’s October 2020 Netflix documentary movie Light Up The Sky which showed the behind-the-scenes making of the track. 

As the world awaits the group’s highly-anticipated comeback and a consequent world tour later this year that is being touted as the “largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group,” “Ready For Love” is a perfect track to warm up Blinks (Blackpink’s fandom) for what the group’s got in store for them. 

With lyrics like “There’s no need to wait now/ There’s no need to be afraid/ Show me the colors of your heart/ I really need you in my world,” the dance-pop track sees Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo and Lisa express their interest to experience romance. The chorus sees the track enter a booming EDM soundscape with Jennie, Rosé and Lisa singing “I’m ready for love/ Tell mе when you ready ’cause I’m already ready/ / I’m ready for love, I’m ready for love.”

Packed with stunning visuals, the music video sees Blackpink’s virtual counterparts embark on a scenic journey, traversing through futuristic terrains right before they converge on a stunning stage to perform an intricately choreographed routine. 

Earlier this month, Blackpink revealed that they are in the “final stages of recording a new album.” The group is also reportedly shooting a music video with a massive budget. In other news, Lisa has created history by being the only K-pop soloist to be nominated in Best K-pop category at this year’s VMAs. The Thai-rapper debuted as a soloist late last year with Lalisa- a self-titled single album that also contained the viral sensation “Money.”
