The South Korean stars also took home four awards of the night, including Top Selling Song for their 2020 single "Dynamite"
Global pop stars BTS delivered the first ever live performance of their new single “Butter” at the Billboard Music Awards today. The group also won all four awards they were nominated for–including Top Selling Song, Top Duo/Group, Top Social Artist and Top Song Sales Artist.
The septet were dressed in suave black suits as they performed “Butter” remotely from South Korea, recreating the BBMAs’ red carpet and other glamorous stage sets as they delivered the smooth choreography for the dance pop track. Fans were especially thrilled by the slick dance break during the track’s groovy synth interlude.
BTS smashed several records across the globe with the release of “Butter”; the track claimed the biggest music video premiere on YouTube with over 3.9 million peak concurrents, a record previously held by the group’s first all English track, “Dynamite,” and set a new all-time 24-hour record of 108.2 million views. “Butter” also recorded the largest single-day streams for a song in Spotify’s history with over 20.9 million global streams.
