Watch DAY6’s Heartfelt Video for ‘You Make Me’

The South Korean pop-rock band are back with their highly anticipated seventh EP, ‘The Book of Us: Negentropy’

Apr 19, 2021

Centered around two souls entwined by the powerful force of love, South Korean rock band DAY6’s latest comeback The Book of Us: Negentropy- Chaos Swallowed Up In Love hits the right chords as they sing about healing, comfort and belonging.

Composed by members Young K, Wonpil, and South Korean producer Hong Ji Sang with lyrics by Young K, the lead single “You Make Me” offers listeners comfort amidst the chaos of life. Characterized by lo-fi string sounds harmonized over synth-pop drums, the record takes a leap with the definition of love as it explains how love acts as a ray of hope during the darkest of times.

The video offers a glimpse of both the quintet and the protagonists, who are off on a rendezvous around the city, cruising through serene roads as they make their way to the seashore. Amping up the emotional quotient of the track, the band matches the thematic of the record visually as they immerse themselves into the picturesque landscape of golden sunset, strumming and singing, “Everything would be impossible without you/ I won’t even be there now/ Because it’s you, you’re supporting me/ So I’m alright, I endure it like this.”

The Book of Us: Negentropy- Chaos Swallowed Up In Love concludes the band’s The Book Of Us album series, which kicked off in 2019 with The Book of Us: Gravity and continued with The Book of Us: The Demon in 2020. With an impressive lineup of seven tracks– “You Make Me,” “Everyday We Fight,” “Only,” “Above The Clouds,” “One” and “So Let’s Love”– fans can expect to experience the healing power of love.
