Ed Sheeran has been featured in BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge series, covering pop singer Christina Aguilera’s 2002 hit, “Dirrty.” The online video series has previously featured artists like Imagine Dragons, Charlie XCX, Maroon 5, FKA Twigs and many more. While the artists do perform their original tracks, they also pick a song or two and reinvent them.
Sheeran has done a brilliant job with “Dirrty”, giving it a fresh, acoustic makeover. Backed by a pianist and a group of singers, he has created a stripped down version of the song while deepening the emotion of the main melody. The vocals are spot on, and at times, even better than Aguilera’s, all thanks to his voice texture and vocal turns.
You can watch Ed Sheeran create more magic at the Fly Music Festival on March 1st, 2015 at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, Mumbai.
