Watch Emraan Hashmi Go On a Suicide Mission in Netflix’s ‘Bard of Blood’ Trailer

Fact and fiction mix in this political espionage thriller

Published by

Earlier this evening, Netflix released the trailer for their upcoming political espionage thriller Bard of Blood. Adapted from Bilal Siddiqi’s 2015 novel of the same name, the eight-episode Netflix series is all set to premiere on September 27th.

The opening shot mirrors the very first scene in the book where four Indian agents are almost executed. Viewers can catch glimpses of the characters essayed by Emraan Hashmi (RAW agent Kabir Anand), Sobhita Dhulipala (Analyst Isha Khanna), Vineet Kumar Singh (Sleeper agent Veer Singh), Kirti Kulhari (Jannat Mari), Jaideep Ahlawat (Pakistani army official) and more in the trailer.

In Bard of Blood, Kabir Anand heads to Balochistan, Pakistan with a team of specialized agents to avenge his mentor and navigate a delicate situation that tests them all. The show was filmed in Hindi, Urdu and English and was shot in locations such as Leh in Ladakh and Mandawa in Rajasthan.

There are some dialogues which can only be described as Bollywood-y. We see Hashmi working a stint as a teacher. The characters brave some hardcore action and for the sake of nostalgia, there’s also a banged up Maruti Suzuki Esteem enduring gunfire in an escape sequence.

Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, Bard of Blood is the first web series produced by Red Chillies Entertainment for Netflix.
