Watch Foo Fighters Play ‘Under Pressure’ With Queen, Zeppelin Members

Roger Taylor and John Paul Jones join Dave Grohl onstage to form "superdupergroup" for Freddie Mercury's birthday

Foo Fighters returned to the United Kingdom Saturday night for the first of three make-up gigs following Dave Grohl’s fractured leg. The frontman offered amends for the delay to the Milton Keynes Bowl crowd by inviting Queen’s Roger Taylor and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones to join Foo Fighters onstage to perform Queen and David Bowie’s “Under Pressure,” as Saturday night also marked what would have been Freddie Mercury’s 69th birthday.

“Now look. I don’t know if y’all have ever seen a supergroup. This is a ‘superdupergroup,'” Grohl told the crowd after introducing Jones and Taylor. “I don’t even know what to say because this kind of shit doesn’t happen every day. Let me just tell you that the Foo Fighters, right now, are living out our rock n’ roll fantasy with you tonight.” “Under Pressure” has been a staple on Foo Fighters’ Sonic Highways tour as Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins share vocals on the duet made famous by Bowie and Mercury.

After the all-star performance, Grohl quipped to the crowd, “You should see my Rolodex. It’s insane,” NME reports. Grohl and Jones were previously band mates in the Josh Homme-led supergroup Them Crooked Vultures. With Grohl’s massive throne at center stage, Foo Fighters also took a fan request to play In Your Honor‘s “DOA” for the first time since 2012.

Foo Fighters will perform one more concert Sunday night in Milton Keynes, England before heading up to Edinburgh, Scotland September 8th for a gig there. The band then returns to North America for another month-long trek that kicks off September 11th at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena.
