Dave Grohl and Co. storm through an impassioned rendition of the New Orleans-inspired 'Sonic Highways' cut

The Foo Fighters stopped by Ellen on Thursday for a rock & roll matinee, performing an impassioned rendition of “In the Clear,” off their latest album, Sonic Highways. With his shaggy mop flung over his face, Dave Grohl led the group through the inspirational cut, bouncing and headbanging about the stage.
The group chronicled the making of Sonic Highways in an HBO documentary series of the same name, which found Grohl and the rest of the band exploring the musical histories of each city they visited.
The Foo Fighters are set to kick off a massive tour in support of Sonic Highways next summer, starting with a July 4th gig at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. Tickets go on sale on November 22nd at 10 a.m. and will be available first at box offices in order to curb scalping. More details on where to go and when to get in line are on the band’s website.
