Watch HYBE’s New Girl Group LE SSERAFIM Make A Bold Debut With ‘Fearless’

The single leads the group's first EP, also called 'Fearless'

Composed of former IZ*ONE members Sakura and Kim Chaewon, former Produce 48 contestant Huh Yunjin, and new idols Kim Garam, Hong Eunchae and Kazuha, HYBE Label’s new girl group, LE SSERAFIM, have made their highly anticipated debut with “Fearless.”

Co-written and produced by HYBE’s executive producer and founder Bang Si-Hyuk, “Fearless” is an addictive alternative-pop anthem wrapped within deep, heavy bass-synth and a groovy hook, maintaining a sophisticated, refined sonic atmosphere. Mellow and rhythmic with just the right kick of crisp percussion sounds, the single’s toned-down production allows listeners to focus on the sextet’s vocalizations.

Singing about taking charge of their destiny, LE SERRAFIM makes a bold statement, reinstating their passion and resilience – “Don’t care about those past troubles you all know, huh/ I’m fearless, a new bitch, new crazy climbing up, next one.” The chorus – though sonically compelling – offers little lyrically with members reciting, “What you lookin’ at/ What you, what you lookin’ at/ I’m fearless.”

Donned in black and white overtones, the music video plays to the group’s strengths, highlighting the sextet’s knack for choreography and performance. Oscillating between different stages and sets, the smooth, sultry choreographed routines are performed against an array of backdrops ranging from the interiors of a futuristic building to a glamorous stage embellished with crystals.

Apart from the lead single, LE SSERAFIM’s debut EP Fearless includes four additional tracks titled “The World Is My Oyster,” “The Great Mermaid,” “Sour Grapes” and “Blue Flame.”

On March 14th, 2022, entertainment company Source Music announced the launch of LE SSERAFIM, created in collaboration with HYBE Corporation. The news was accompanied by the announcement of Sakura and Kim Chaewon joining the group. Between April 4th and April 9th, the remaining members were revealed through teaser roll-outs.

As of May 2nd, it was reported that pre-orders of the EP had surpassed 270,000 copies in seven days and 380,000 copies in 16 days.
