'i DECIDE' marks the group's first comeback without former member and leader B.I.

iKON's "Dive" is about doing anything for the person you love and leaping into any situation to help them or make them happy.
South Korean boy group iKON made their first comeback in over a year earlier today with the brand new EP i DECIDE led by the single “Dive.” This is the band’s first comeback without former member and leader B.I., and sees them end their year-long hiatus and return to forge a new identity as a sextet.
B.I. was ousted from the group in June 2019 after allegations of drug purchase in 2016 arose against him. While his contract with YG Entertainment was terminated, his work as a producer and writer was included on i DECIDE. Several of iKON’s members participated in the production process of the EP, with rapper Bobby co-writing three of the tracks, “Ah Yeah,” “All The World,” and “Flower” and main dancer/vocalist DK adding his production and composition skills on “Flower.”
Co-written by B.I., the lead single “Dive” is about doing anything for the person you love and leaping into any situation to help them or make them happy. There is a sense of desperation and obsession if you look deeper however, that hint at the dangers of blind love: “I’m willing to be trapped in your world/I’ll be fine with just one affectionate word.I’ll protect that beautiful smile of yours/You just stay where you are/I was blinded just because of love/I’ll dive into your world.”
In terms of sound, the track is a fascinating mix of country and EDM that’s not quite common in K-pop–acoustic guitar riffs and distinct strains of harmonica blend with dance pop to present a catchy result. In the choreography-heavy video the six members jump head-first into dangerous situations, braving encounters with deadly arrows, fire and cages in their quest to get to the one they love.
i DECIDE is iKON’s third EP since their debut in 2015 and the follow-up to the group’s award-winning January 2019 LP The New Kids.
