Neon-soaked 'Bonnie and Clyde' tale has unexpected twist
Young love and high-stakes robberies are the focuses in DJ Snake’s new video for “Let Me Love You.” Directed by James Lees, the clip matches the track’s tropical EDM vibe and Justin Bieber’s soft vocals with a clubby aesthetic.
The video shows a couple holding up stores and then luxuriating in the windfall in their red-lit hotel room. The pair eventually bring the money to a mob boss, whom they double cross, kicking off an extended chase sequence that seems to end suddenly when the man falls from a roof, pouring cash everywhere.
However, the scene unfolds into a video game (signaled by a health bar refilling at the bottom of the screen). More graphics appear as the couple beat down a horde of hired goons. Soon it’s revealed that the whole scenario is a video game being played in co-op mode by a young boy and an old man.
“Let Me Love You” appears on DJ Snake’s latest album, Encore, which arrived in August. Bieber, meanwhile, is set to wrap the European leg of his Purpose tour November 29th in London. He’ll resume his world tour next February with a string of international dates. He’ll also play Miami Beach on New Year’s Eve.
