Watch Kanye West Debut Fiery ‘All Day’ at BRIT Awards

Kanye West debuted the official version of “All Day” Wednesday at the 2015 Brit Awards following the leak of numerous rough versions of the song since last August.

After Kim Kardashian-West presented the Global Success Award to Sam Smith, posing for a selfie with the show’s hosts Ant and Dec and demanding that the audience stand up for the performance, West appeared onstage surrounded by a large group of friends and two flame-throwers. The performances and song were more energetic and grittier than the emotional, introspective tracks fans have heard from his as-yet-untitled, upcoming album thus far.

West’s performance can be viewed below.

Theophilus London and Allan Kingdom joined West onstage, with Travis Scott appearing on previous cuts of the song. In the audience, cameras panned to awe-struck faces of Taylor Swift and Lionel Richie as West performed beneath the flames.

Produced by French Montana and Velous, “All Day” is the fourth song West has released from the album since debuting his Paul McCartney collaboration “Only One” on New Year’s Eve. “FourFiveSeconds,” West’s song with McCartney and Rihanna, followed, with the track appearing on both Rihanna and West’s albums. Recently, West debuted “Wolves,” a melancholic track featuring vocals from Sia and Chicago rapper Vic Mensa at his Yeezy Boost fashion show.

West performed the three aforementioned tracks live earlier this month at both the Grammy Awards and SNL 40 event. All of his televised performances have had a stark nature complemented by a black-and-white aesthetic, reminiscent of his Yeezus-era visuals.

West stirred up some controversy recently at the Grammy Awards for comments he made about Beck’s win over Beyonce for Album of the Year, claiming that if Beck “respected artistry,” he would give his award to Beyonce for her visual album.

In the aftermath, West gave a number of radio interviews explaining his comments and slowly revealing more information about new music. “Bars, songs, cookout: music that just feels good,” commented West on the feel of his new sound in an interview with New York radio station Power 105. He also noted that his album would be released in a surprise fashion, similar to Drake’s recent mixtape and Beyonce’s self-titled visual album.
