Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Vic Mensa, Cindy Crawford, Sia and more appear in stark, high-fashion clip
Kanye West has partnered with fashion house Balmain for the video for “Wolves,” a track off the rapper’s forever project, The Life of Pablo. Unlike West’s controversial “Famous” video, which starred waxy models of Taylor Swift, Donald Trump and others, “Wolves” boasts a flesh-and-blood all-star cast that includes Sia and Vic Mensa alongside models like Cindy Crawford, Alessandra Ambrosio and Joan Smalls plus Kim Kardashian and her sister Kylie Jenner.
The Steven Klein-directed black-and-white video, which doubles as a spotlight for Balmain’s Fall 2016 line, features West delivering the track with tears streaming down his face. Balmain creative director Oliver Rousteing ”“ who collaborated with West on his Yeezy Season 3 line ”“ explained to Vogue how the “Wolves” video came together. “I called Kanye and I said, ‘I would love to create a campaign around your music, your lyrics, and your aesthetic,'” Rousteing said, adding that The Life of Pablo is “my favorite album ever.”
“Kanye has a really strong and incredible vision. I will say it is a vision of art. It’s about fashion; it’s about music; it’s about video. He’s an incredible designer as well, he’s an incredible art director, he’s an incredible singer, and I think it’s all of those things that I love about him. What I also love is that he actually says what he thinks and I love his strength because he is someone who is really honest.”
