Sitting by a window with the Mumbai skyline behind her–styled exclusively in Calvin Klein Jeans and Calvin Klein Underwear–Monica Dogra is relaxed and cheerful behind the scenes at Rolling Stone India’s October 2016 Women’s Special issue cover shoot. “When I found out that Rolling Stone wanted to put me on the cover solo for the first time, I freaked out,” she reveals. “October is my birthday month so it’s probably the best present I could’ve been given.”

Singer, actor, television personality and one-half of alternative electronica music duo Shaa’ir + Func, Dogra has established herself as one of the most recognized and successful women in the indie music scene. In her in-depth cover story interview with Rolling Stone India, Dogra discusses her evolution into being a stronger and more confident artist and individual; it was this confidence that shone bright while at the cover shoot with wardrobe partner Calvin Klein Jeans at the Sofitel Mumbai BKC’s Prestige Suite. “Calvin Klein — I have worked with them before and what I really love about them is that their campaigns have a certain kind of intimacy,” says Dogra, adding that she likes the fact that they focus on the person behind the celebrity rather than the persona a celebrity projects.

“Working with CK is always a pleasure because I kind of feel like we have a lot of sync in our respective brand identities,” shares Dogra who breezes through five looks by the brand. “Their new products are great, of course they’re intimates are just beautiful, comfortable, sporty as well as sexy and redefining what it means to be sexy.”
